
54th Annual Del-Mar-Va Fire Prevention Queen Contest & Parade - Cambridge, Md.
On Saturday, October 2, 2010 the Rescue Fire Company of Cambridge, Maryland hosted the 54th Annual Del-Mar-Va Volunteer Firemen's Association Queen Contest & Parade. G.V.F.D. was well represented in the Queen Contest by Little Miss Greenbackville - Harley Marshall and Miss Greenbackville - Christian Hall. Station 2 was awarded a total of seven (7) trophies during the awards ceremony for the following: Best Appearing Virginia Fire Company; Best Appearing Virginia Ladies Auxiliary; Best Appearing Aerial Apparatus; Best Appearing Tanker - 2,000 gallons of more; 2nd Best Appearing Ambulance; 2nd Best Appearing Command/Chief's Vehicle and Best Appearing Apparatus Overall.
Great job and hats off to all of those who helped clean and prepare the numerous vehicles and apparatus to appear in the parade, and a special thanks to Deputy Chief Barry Outten & wife Lynda, for allowing the use of their personal vehicle to transport the Queens during the parade - Greenbackville should be proud!
