2008 GMC 4500 - Horton model 555
This unit is equipped with Advanced Life Support Equipment, including an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Features include an all L.E.D. emergency & D.O.T. lighting package; Electric oxygen bottle lift system; and a specially designed patient area complete with a crash barrier wall, ALS stack area and fully forward placed side entry door. This unit was the first custom ambulance purchased by the department. Ambulance 2-1 was placed in service on June 16, 2008. (Click on image for more photos)

2000 Ford E-450 / Med-tec
Unit is equipped with Advanced Life Support equipment, including an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Features include LED emergency lighting and a Electric oxygen bottle lift system. Ambulance 2-2 was placed in service on May 7, 2002. (Click on image to enlarge photo)
Engine 2-3
1989 Pierce Lance Engine
Engine 2-3 is powered by a 6V92 Detroit diesel 350 hp motor, coupled to an Allison automatic transmission. The unit is equipped with a 1250 gpm Waterous pump and a 1000 gallon water tank. The apparatus carries five (5) pre-connected attack lines; 1075 feet of 5 inch Large Diameter Supply Hose (LDH); 500 feet of 3 inch supply hose; Hurst extrication equipment & cribbing; Thermal imaging camera; Gas meter and various other firefighting and rescue equipment. It has seating for 6 firefighters. This apparatus is the first due piece on all fire/rescue related calls occuring in our district. Engine 2-3 was placed in service on March 18, 1989. Tanker 2-7
2010 Peterbilt model 348 / Freedom Fire Tanker
Tanker 2-7 is equipped with a 3000 gallon water tank and a 500 gpm Hale AP-50 pump. The unit is powered by a 360 hp Cummins diesel motor, coupled to an Allison automatic transmission. The unit carries all required equipment to be considered a "Mobile Water Supply Apparatus". This apparatus is typically the first due unit on all mutual-aid fire responses. Truck 2
1978 Duplex/Pierce/L.T.I. 100' Aerial
Truck 2 is powered by a 330 hp Detroit diesel motor, coupled to an Allison automatic transmission. It is equipped with a 1500 gpm Waterous pump and 100' rear mount, straight-stick aerial. The unit has two (2) pre-connected 1 3/4" attack lines; 500 feet of 5 inch LDH and over 700 feet of 3 inch supply hose. It carries a full compliment of Truck Company equipment. It has seating for 5 firefighters. (The unit was formerly "Ladder 7" with the Des Moines, Iowa Fire Department). Truck 2 was placed in service on May 1, 2002.
Brush 2
1989 GMC Sierra 3500 Brush Truck
Brush 2 is equipped with a 225 gpm Hale portable pump and a 250 gallon water tank. It carries the necessary equipment for all brush/woods/field fires. Brush 2 was placed in service during 2000.
Unit 2-9
1998 Ford Crown Victoria
Unit 2-9 is equipped with traffic control equipment; fire extinguisher; and EMS equipment. It is primarily used to transport personnel to emergency incidents and various other departmental functions, such as meetings, training exercises, etc. This unit was graciously donated to the department by G.V.F.D. member Thomas Sharpley and his wife Catherine in early 2008. Unit 2-9 was placed in service in March 2008.
