Annual Halloween Party & Auction - October 23, 2010
The Annual Halloween Party was held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 in the Greenbackville V.F.D. Banquet Hall. The evening began with Costume Judging at 6:00 p.m., followed by complimentary food, snacks & drinks at seven. Shortly after 7:00 the well known Cake Auction was held, with Auctioneer Zeb Barfield once again graciously providing his talent to the fire department; thanks again Zeb. The highest winning bid was for Amy Hughes' famous Chocolate & Cherry cake, which sold for $130.00 - During the auction games were held next door in the Fire Station for children 8 and under. At approximately 8:15 children and adults alike were treated to a "Haunted Hayride" through parts of Greenbackville and neighboring Franklin City. We hope all who attended the event had an outstanding time, and thank you to all of those who planned, implemented and supported this annual tradition in Greenbackville. We extend our gratitude to our Costume Judges: Major Todd Godwin, of the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, and Zeb & Carla Barfield. Hope to see everyone again next year!
