Jan. 30, 2010  - New Tanker Progress

The Officers & Members of the G.V.F.D. approved the purchase of a new 3,000 gallon tanker in July, 2009 -  to replace the aging 1978 Ford/L.T.I.   A contract was awarded to Freedom Fire Equipment, of Marietta, Georgia. The tanker is now under construction at their facility. The  chassis is a Peterbilt 340 series, with a 360 HP Cummins motor coupled to an Allison automatic transmission.
