Woods Fire - Hallwood

Woods Fire - Neil Parker Road, May 10, 2010
At 1619 hrs, Station 2 was alerted to respond and assist Station 6 (Bloxom) with a Woods Fire on Neil Parker Road, near the town of Hallwood.  GVFD responded with Tanker 2-7, Brush 2, Tanker 2-8 and Utility 2-9. Once on scene, crews assisted with fire suppression and water-supply. Station 2's units remained on the scene until approximately 2015 hrs. Agencies on location: Station 6 - Bloxom; Station 7 - Parksley; Station 4 - Atlantic; Station 5 - Saxis; Station 1 - New Church; Station 8 - Tasley; Station 2 - Greenbackville; Virginia Dept. of Forestry; Accomack Dept. of Public Safety (DPS 3); and VDOT. In addition, Station 100 - Pocomoke (Worcester County, Md) transferred a Tanker (Tanker 1) to Station 1 for a cover assignment; and Station 9 - Onancock & Station 10 - Melfa transferred Medic 9-2 & Medic 10-1 respectively, to Station 7 to handle EMS incidents.
